Manchester High School for Girls is routinely inspected by the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI). This body is overseen by the Office for Standards in Education, Children’s Services and Skills (Ofsted).
ISI conducted an Educational Quality Inspection of Manchester High School for Girls at the end of 2019. This type of inspection focuses on the quality of two areas; pupils’ academic and other achievements and pupils’ personal development. MHSG secured the highest possible rating of ‘excellent’ in both aspects. The full report can be read below.
ISI conducted a regulatory compliance inspection of Manchester High School for Girls in September 2016 and the School was judged to be fully compliant with all of ISI’s regulatory requirements.
It is important to note that in regulatory compliance inspections, regulations are simply either ‘met’ or ‘not met’. This type of inspection does not involve quality judgements and therefore it is not possible for a report to feature descriptions such as ‘excellent’ or ‘outstanding’.
