Manchester High School for Girls

Talented artists from Manchester High, Ebubechi and Hannah from Senior Sixth, scooped some of the top prizes at a Schools’ art competition, ‘ArtTastic’.

Open to children, teenagers and students across Greater Manchester, the ArtTastic competition was held by Jerrold Holdings, parent company of the Blemain Group.

Ebubechi won first prize in the College category and received a cheque for £500 and a trophy. Hannah came third in the same category and also received a cash prize and a trophy.

Manchester High’s Art Department was presented with a cheque for £250 as the winning school in the College category.

Ebubechi said: “I was happy that I won, as I never really win anything! I feel accomplished, and confident that maybe I am not such a bad artist after all! I study A Level Art and I have a real passion for it. I do a lot of painting in school.”

The art has been on display for four weeks at Stockport Art Gallery, before being moved to the company’s head office at Cheadle Royal Business Park.
