Manchester High School for Girls

Tuesday 3rd October sees the first of this year's "Insight Into..." events at MHSG. Students will be able to find out how to pursue a career in politics and get an idea of the many different forms this can take.

Two members of the MHSG alumnae community, Louise Ellman MP and Sarah Neville, will be returning to School to talk about their own experiences and share their expertise.

Louise Ellman MP

The talk will take place in the Zochonis Lecture Theatre from 6pm to 7.30pm. It is open to all students from Year 10 through to Sixth Form and parents are encouraged to attend with their daughters.

Students are able to bring friends from other schools and colleges with them but they must be signed in in advance.

Louise Ellman MP left Manchester High School for Girls in 1964 and went on to study History and Sociology at the University of Hull.

Louise has 40 years of experience in politics and has been an MP for Liverpool Riverside since 1997.

She has worked on a variety of issues throughout her political career from transport through to gay rights.
