HOLOCAUST SURVIVOR SHARES HIS EXPERIENCES WITH MHSG STUDENTS
Manchester High School for Girls welcomed holocaust survivor, Mr Chaim Ferster, to school on Wednesday 25th January to talk to students about his harrowing experiences at Nazi concentration camps.
The girls were deeply moved as Chaim, now 94 years old, told his harrowing tale of being held at seven different concentration camps, including Auschwitz and Buchenwald.
Being shown Chaim’s inmate identification number, tattooed on his arm, was a particularly sobering moment for everyone listening.
The talk came to a conclusion as Chaim played a song on his beloved violin and a rendition of ‘Hatikva’ to the girls.
The visit was organized by UJIA to commemorate Holocaust Memorial Day (27th January 2017).
