Going for Gold at Prep Sports Day
House honour was at stake as girls took to the track for their annual Sports Day competitions.
Organised by members of the PE Department and supported by Senior School Sport Leaders, girls competed in sprints, skipping races and even a space hopper challenge. The warm June sun wasn't going to stop the girls from giving their all and the winners were Darbishire (Junior) Sports Day and Behrens (Infants).
Mrs Newman, Director of Sport, said: “It’s important that all girls have a go at as many different events as possible, so that they can start to discover what they enjoy doing. It’s fantastic that so many parents came out to support the days and I hope that they had a great time cheering their daughters on. I loved hearing them all chant their house names over and over again, as it was clear that they’d had a brilliant day out.”
Mrs Mortimer was delighted with how the day was received: "Sports Day is always the highlight of our sporting calendar and this year was no different. Hearing the girls chant the names of their friends is always lovely to hear and their enthusiasm for all the events was unwavering. I'm already excited for next year!"
