INSIGHT INTO PR
On Thursday 27th September, pupils and parents will be able to explore the strategic and creative industry of PR and communications.
Public relations may not be the first job that comes to mind when planning for the future, however, it can be an exciting, varied role which can lead to great opportunities. Do you enjoy building relationships and talking to new people? Are you interested in the world around you? Then you could be suited to a career in PR. Former Manchester High pupils, Roz Hughes and Michelle Eagleton, will appear as part of our 'Insight Into' careers series in the Zochonis Lecture Theatre from 6pm.
'Insight Into' careers talks will take place over the course of the year where we will draw on the experience of our alumnae and wider business community to give pupils the inside track on specific sectors.
Roz, from the MHSG Class of 1987, is currently Director of her own consultancy and has worked for a variety of companies in the travel and tourism industry including Marketing Manchester, Manchester Airport and Lufthansa.
Fellow MHSG alumna, Michelle Eagleton (Class of 1994) is a Freelance Broadcast Journalist and PR Guru. Michelle has worked in the media industry for over 15 years with extensive experience in TV, radio, print and online. Michelle is both a trained broadcast journalist and publicist who has worked for the BBC, ITV, MUTV, KEY 103 and Independent Radio News.
Michelle has spent the last three years leading major sport press campaigns at the BBC such as the Olympics, Wimbledon and BBC Sports Personality of the Year.
The talk is open to all girls in Years 10 to 13 and takes place on Thursday 27th September at 6pm in the Zochonis Lecture Theatre. Parents are encouraged to attend, as are pupils and parents from local Schools and colleges.
