JUNIOR PERFORMING ARTS EVENING IS A WONDERFUL SHOWCASE OF TALENT
Actresses and public speakers from Years 7 to 10 put on a wonderful show as they performed in front of teachers and families during the annual Junior Performing Arts evening on 3rd May.
Ranging from Horrid Henry and Olivia Twist to The Crucible and The 101 Dalmations, the acts were delivered with great talent and enthusiasm.
Mrs Carter, speech and drama teacher, was full of praise of the girls, and said:
“The performances were all very different; and the audience was taken on a truly emotional journey. We watched Warishah give a thought-provoking enactment of a young girl with family difficulties on a rare day out. Charlotte and Rumaisa’s rendition of Kindertransport was very moving, and the girls showed a maturity way beyond their years.
“We also had very funny acts, including young baker Maryam who certainly lifted the mood with her interpretation of A Maple Leaf Wonder. Jithmini and Elise’s slapstick performance of James and the Giant Peach was also very entertaining. The wrestling match between the two ‘dragons’ was particularly good fun!
“Congratulations to all the girls for their superb performances and making the evening so enjoyable.”
