Manchester High School for Girls

Students of GCSE, AS and A-level Fine Art and Graphic Communication put on a wonderful display on Wednesday, 2nd May, when they showcased their end of course work in School.

Parents as well as staff and governors were invited for the special summer exhibition to see their daughters’ art.

The talented artists displayed a fantastic array of art from self-portraits to graphic illustrations, as Mrs Chambers, Head of Art and Design, explained: “The overriding impression of the work was that every student had presented a personal response to their chosen starting points.

“The range of media, styles and topics were explored with confidence. It was a vibrant and thought-provoking collection of the traditional and the avant garde, and I am very proud of the girls’ excellent work.”

Highlights of the full artwork will be published after the School’s public examination results in August as they are currently being examined by the AQA.

You can preview samples of the artwork on our Flickr album.
