PREP SWIMMERS CROWNED GREATER MANCHESTER CHAMPIONS
Young swimming sensations from Manchester High School for Girls’ Preparatory Department had a lot to celebrate as they brought back a Gold medal from the Greater Manchester Winter School Games Finals held at the East Manchester Leisure Centre on 20th March.
Lilly, Alexa, Emilia and Georgia from Year 5 had already excelled in the competition by winning all previous levels of the Games. It was, therefore, no surprise that they went into the Finals with confidence and big smiles on their faces.
They received great support from their families, as one of the girls’ parents, Mrs Watkins, commented: “The girls beat some seriously tough competition to win Gold. They were amazing and incredibly chilled out during the whole proceedings. We are all so proud, and the girls are so happy and excited about their achievement. They were a real credit to MHSG.”
Mrs Helen Mortimer, Head of the Preparatory Department, added: “This is a fantastic achievement for the girls, and a real testament to their enthusiasm and dedication for their sport. Many congratulations to them all, we are very proud of them.”
