Manchester High School for Girls

Following the Etherington review in 2015, changes in data protection are on their way. Read on to find out what you need to do now!

New laws under General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) mean that all charities, of which Manchester High is one, will need the clear consent of supporters and friends to send updates and information, regarding not just fundraising campaigns but more general activities also.

As a School we are very proud of the relationships we have with our alumnae community, parents and friends of MHSG. We love keeping in touch; be it via High Flyer so you are up to date with all the latest news coming out of Manchester High, inviting you to one of our events, or requesting help with work experience or mentoring support for present pupils.

Sometimes we do, and will, make contact regarding our charitable efforts for the School’s bursary fund but this is always completely without expectation or pressure. The new GDPR legislation therefore presents us with a considerable challenge.

Come the end of May 2018 we must be compliant but it is crucial to the ongoing success of the School, and the wider MHSG community, that we don’t lose the links and connections we value so much.
