Manchester High School for Girls

Year 6 girls from the Preparatory Department at Manchester High have excelled in the national Junior Maths Challenge.

The maths competition is organised by the United Kingdom Mathematics Trust and designed as a challenge for girls in Year 8 or below. Only the top 40% of students received a Gold, Silver or Bronze Certificate in the ratio of 1:2:3, and the Prep girls achieved no fewer than four Golds, four Silvers and nine Bronze awards!

Manchester High’s prep girls attended Maths clubs during lunch breaks and in the morning before the start of the school day. Miss Diamond, Deputy Head of Preparatory Department, said: “The girls worked extremely hard, and we were thrilled with their results. It’s an amazing achievement for them to achieve Gold, Silver and Bronze certificates. We are very proud of them all!”

The Gold certificates were awarded to Rumbi, Olivia, Noor and Anaya. Silver certificates were achieved by Anna, Insiya, Sasha and Daisy. Bronze certificates were awarded to Grace, Fareha, Beatrice, Joella, Cicely, Evie, Anjali, Emma C and Damilola.
