At MHSG, well being and character education are central to school life. We believe that when students feel supported and valued, they are best placed to flourish both academically and personally.

Pastoral Care

Our approach focuses on building resilience, confidence and the skills to manage challenges effectively, preparing students for life well beyond the classroom.

Each student has a Form Tutor and Support Form Tutor who see them daily and work closely with the Pastoral Deputy, Heads of Section and Heads of Year to monitor progress and provide support. We also have a School Nurse and a School Counsellor who can provide further guidance when needed.

Friendships and community are key to school life. We help new students settle in quickly, knowing that the connections they make here often last a lifetime.

Our diverse school community embraces girls of all faiths and traditions, with assemblies, discussion and space for prayer or quiet reflection available to those who wish.

Well Being

Well Being Programme

In the Senior School, our aim is for students to develop the knowledge, understanding, skills and characteristics needed to thrive personally and in their relationships. Pupils follow a tailored Well Being Programme:

  • Years 7–9: Know yourself
  • Years 10–11: Like yourself
  • Years 12–13: Develop yourself

Weekly lessons cover personal development, relationships, and practical strategies for maintaining good mental health.
