The School’s Pankhurst Bursary Appeal was launched in 2010. In an era where direct grants and assisted places are long gone, our original aim was simple; to raise £2 million to ensure that 100 girls could benefit from a Manchester High education, regardless of their financial circumstances.

In 2015, we launched the Never Over100ked campaign and we are proud to say that we have met this goal, and that in September we welcomed the 100th bursary girl through the doors of Manchester High.

We are tremendously grateful to everyone within the MHSG community who has chosen to donate to the Fund over the years to get us to this point. However our appeal does not end here; we must continually look to the future and are already making plans to raise funds for the next 100 girls.

Beyond Never Over100ked

Manchester High School for Girls is not elitist and must not become so. We are determined that we will never miss, never fail to notice, never overlook a girl with potential. In fact, over the years, we have become experts at spotting them.

Our classrooms are full of them. Our roll call of our alumnae speaks for itself.

Yet what we have in determination, we lack in finance.

A gift from you, no matter what the size, would help us extend the opportunity of a Manchester High education to as many bright and deserving girls as possible.

Reaching the Next 100

Thanks to our loyal supporters, 100 girls have benefitted from a Manchester High education. Will you help us reach the next 100?
