The successful candidate will be required to provide individual lessons on a one-to-one basis to students in our Preparatory and Senior departments. The students at Manchester High School for Girls learn instruments for many reasons; some aspire to be professional musicians, whilst for others it is a diversion from other pressures. We are primarily looking for a teacher who will instil a lifelong enjoyment of music making, whilst maintaining the highest levels of ambition for each of their pupils. An ability to teach all age and ability levels up is an absolute necessity.
It is expected that the successful post holder will promote the performance of students within the Music Department, including participation in music festivals, ABRSM examinations, as well as in our monthly twilight concert series. The post holder will be engaged on a self-employed basis and in the first instance, we anticipate there will be the equivalent of four hours of teaching available. There may also be accompaniment opportunities.
