INSIGHT INTO FINANCE CAREERS TALK
Three former pupils will be returning to MHSG to give girls and parents the inside track on how they have forged a successful career in the financial sector.
This year sees Manchester High launch the 'Insight Into...' careers series where over the course of the year we'll be drawing on the experience of our alumnae community to give us the inside track on specific sectors.
The 'Insight Into...Finance' event will take place on Wednesday 2nd November from 6pm in the Zochonis Lecture Theatre. It is open to girls in Years 10 through to 13.
Alex Ford is a Senior Associate within the Corporate Finance department at PricewaterhouseCoopers. Working in Mergers and Acquisitions has allowed her to experience a range of deals across differing sectors since joining the team, including both trade and PE transactions. Alex joined PwC in 2011 within the Audit and Assurance department on the School Leaver programme. She had the opportunity to work on a large range of sectors, with particular focus on Pension Funds, Retail and Manufacturing clients. After achieving her ACCA and completing her training contract she moved to join the Corporate Finance department in 2015.
Nicola Whitney-Lovett achieved a first class honours degree in Accounting and Finance and since then has worked across numerous roles in the Lloyds Banking Group. Currently Delivery Manager in Mortgage Documentations, Nicola is also experienced in both mortgage and customer rectifications, responsible for sizing and root cause analysis across savings, personal accounts, investments, loans and retail business banking.
Kavita Gupta has over 14 years’ transactional experience in acquisition/leveraged finance from advisory, origination, syndication, fund management and secondary trading with debt up to £8 billion. Products include: senior bank loans, asset backed securities, mezzanine, high yield and bridge loans. She is currently Senior Strategic Project Manager for Arrow Global Group and has previously worked for Rothschild and Deloitte LLP.
