Manchester High School for Girls

Supporting Children in Need

Girls in the Prep, Senior School and Sixth Form swapped their uniform for something a bit comfier on Friday 15th November in support of BBC Children in Need.

Children in Need’s vision is that every child in the UK has a childhood which is safe, happy and allows them the chance to reach their potential. They provide grants to projects in the UK which focus on children and young people who are disadvantaged. We are local to people in all corners of the UK and support small and large organisations which empower children and extend their life choices.

In the Preparatory Department, girls sported spotted clothing; with Pudsey the Bear ears resplendent. The Senior School and Sixth Form opted for the comfort of pyjamas and onesies, with many members of staff joining in the fun too.

Mrs Chisnall, Charities Co-ordinator at Manchester High, commented: “Our pupils are always eager to support Children in Need, so we always aim to do something fun to raise money for this fantastic cause. Staff and students dug deep and raised an amazing £1,425.98, which will go to help disadvantaged young people throughout the UK. Thank you to everybody for their ongoing generosity!”
