Manchester High School for Girls

Remembering Daniella

On Thursday 5th March, staff and students in the Senior School remembered former pupil, Daniella Sciama, on what would have been her birthday.

Daniella left Manchester High School for Girls in 2013 and sadly passed away from a long illness that same December. Every year, her mum Michelle comes to MHSG to visit her memorial in quad and to share memories with her former teachers.

"She is remembered fondly by those who taught her and she is still spoken about in the staff room."
 - Mrs Chisnall

Mrs Chisnall, Daniella’s Sixth Form tutor, commented: “Daniella was a lovely girl and a fantastic student. She is remembered fondly by those who taught her and she is still spoken about in the staff room. The Sciama family are very supportive of the school and it’s always nice to see Michelle and remember Daniella.”

Her comments were echoed by Mr Kingsley, who knew Daniella as a friend: “I knew Daniella very well and we were very close. I have very good memories of our times together and I’m delighted that MHSG remembers her every year.”
