Pupils set a 'high bar' at Gymnastics Final

Manchester High School for Girls’ gymnasts set a ‘high bar’ at the Milano Gymnastics Regional Finals in Preston on Saturday 18th January.

Miss Reddin and Mrs Pickup took seven teams of pupils aged six to 16 to the competition, where all pupils completed an individual floor routine, a vault and a group routine. Two of the seven teams have now qualified for the National Finals in March. Those pupils are Elena Brack, Alice Thompson, Sophia Yu, Emilia Brack, Milly Beauchamp and Alexa Hodkinson-Bently.

Mrs Pickup, Teacher of PE, said: “The standard was much higher than in previous years, but the girls kept their composure and performed brilliantly. To have six girls competing at the National Finals will be fantastic and I can’t wait until the day in March!”
