Manchester High School for Girls

Preparatory Department take to the stage

Girls in the Preparatory Department joined members of the PTA to officially open the new playground stage.

Kindly funded by the PTA, the stage is a fantastic new addition to the Key Stage 1 playground and will give pupils the opportunity to develop their performance skills in a familiar environment.

Mrs Adam, Reception Teacher, commented: “The stage has already proven to be incredibly popular with the girls. It is always well-populated at break and lunchtimes, with many of the girls singing, dancing and acting until the whistle blows.”

Mrs Mortimer, Head of the Preparatory Department, was incredibly grateful to the PTA: “I’m delighted that the girls have this wonderful new facility to enjoy. It simply wouldn’t have been possible without the generosity of our PTA who spend a countless number of hours supporting the school with events and fundraising. I’d like to thank Mrs Ramsbottom and the members of the PTA for coming to cut the ribbon, we hope they will return soon to watch a performance!”
