Manchester High School for Girls

Prep support Platt Fields Park Bike Hub mural

Pupils in Year 5 and 6 are supporting a project to design a mural for the Platt Fields Park Bike Hub.

Alongside artist Anna Smith, girls came up with a concept for the mural (which is just 25 metres from the Main Entrance of MHSG!) which told the story of how cycling can helps the world. After consolidating their individual designs, they will now hone their work before painting it on the Bike Hub in the summer term.

Mrs Mortimer, Head of Preparatory Department, was delighted with the girls’ creativity: “We’re delighted to have our pupils involved in this fantastic initiative. They all came up with some fantastic ideas and they found choosing the best part of each very difficult, but it was wonderful to see their collaborations. I’m excited to see the mural come to life later in the year!”
