Over 100 alumnae return for Annual and Decades Reunion 2019
Alumnae from across the globe came together at Manchester High School for Girls on Saturday 28th September for our Annual and Decades Reunion.
With guests travelling from as far as Canada, School was buzzing with over 100 old girls from the Class of 1959 through to 2009 who braved the rain to attend this hotly anticipated get together.
The day started with a Pimms reception and a chance to look back at photographs and school work from their time at MHSG, before everyone headed into the hall (some for the first time in 60 years!) for a group photograph to commemorate the day.
Guests enjoyed a delicious lunch followed by tours of the school led by the staff and the Head Girl Team; they were able to see first-hand all of the fabulous new facilities and changes that have taken place since their time at MHSG.
Liz Falzon (nee Low) from the Class of 1989 commented:
“It was an absolutely wonderful event, the most fun I’ve had in ages, and fantastic to see so many people from my year – most of whom I hadn’t seen for 30 years. I particularly loved the tour from the current Head Girl who showed us around so very patiently and had to listen to all our boring stories from the past! Seeing some of my prep school work on display was the icing on the cake – where on earth has that been stored for almost 40 years?!”
Though the reunion might be over, we have plenty of events for alumnae of Manchester High planned throughout the coming academic year. Don't miss out, view our events calendar by clicking here!
