Manchester High School for Girls

Outstanding results for Religious Studies GCSE Short Course

Girls in Year 11 are celebrating another year of outstanding results in their Religious Studies Short Course GCSE.

An incredible 95% of girls achieved a grade 7, 8 or 9, with 67% of girls achieving the highest possible grade 9.They were joined by two of their teachers, Mrs Purvis and Mrs Diamond, for a whole year group photograph in the School’s Rose Garden.

Ms Hodson, Deputy Head (Teaching and Learning), said: “This was the first time that many of these girls have taken a public examination, so to attain such fantastic results is really something. I hope the girls feel proud of their achievements, and that their experiences will really motivate them for the rest of their GCSE examinations in June 2020.

“The RS Department consistently achieves incredible results, which reflect the dedication and expertise of the teachers, as well as the hard work of the students. It was lovely to see two of their teachers celebrating the fantastic results with the girls in the Rose Garden last week.”
