Insight Into Veterinary Sciences
On Monday 28th January, pupils and parents will be able to discover first-hand what it is like to be a successful woman working in the field of veterinary sciences.
Students from years 9 through to 13 who are passionate about ensuring animal wellbeing, have a strong aptitude for scientific study and are up to the challenge of dealing with all kinds of creatures (and owners) are welcome to sign up for this fantastic opportunity.
Former Manchester High pupils Joanna Mallard and Alana McGlade, along with former parent Sue Paterson will appear as part of our 'Insight Into' careers series in the Zochonis Lecture Theatre from 6pm. 'Insight Into' careers talks will take place over the course of the year where we will draw on the experience of our alumnae and wider business community to give pupils the inside track on specific sectors.
Class of 2006 alumna Alana, an Equine and Farm Animal Veterinary Technical Advisor for Dechra Veterinary Products, and Joanna from the class of 1996, a Locum Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon will talk to us about their journey from MHSG to their roles today. Sue, Vice President of the British Small Animal Veterinary Association, European Specialist In Veterinary Dermatology and Director of VirtualVet Derms will then help to give us an understanding about the opportunities and challenges available to aspiring vets today.
The talk is open to all pupils in Years 9 to 13 and takes place on Monday 28th January at 6pm in the Zochonis Lecture Theatre.
Parents are encouraged to attend, as are pupils and parents from local Schools and colleges.
