Transport to and from the School is an important issue for our parents and pupils, a number of whom live more than 5km away. The School has taken a proactive approach in this area; we are committed to providing sustainable travel and offering parents and pupils a range of transport options.

The following bus and coach services are the private services provided for the School by our transport partners.  These buses only carry school children and are not available to members of the public.

A number of our students travel from Bolton, Oldham, Ashton-under-Lyne and Glossop on the train to Manchester Piccadilly and Victoria, where they are able to transfer either to a public bus serving Wilmslow Road or our City Centre Shuttle bus.

Details may change from time to time, therefore we always advise confirming times and routes with the individual bus operator.

How I get to school

Travel Case Study

My name is Abigail and I am in Year 8. I live in Glossop, which is quite a distance from School. In the car, it takes about an hour to get to school every day, but I have recently started getting the shuttle bus, which cuts about 15 minutes off my journey and about 45 minutes off my mum’s!

In the morning, I get the 7.23am train to Piccadilly station with three other girls and then at around 8.20am, I get on the shuttle bus. The bus usually arrives at school for approximately 8.40am so I have plenty of time to get all my books and things ready for the busy school day. After school, I get the bus at 3.55pm and then the Glossop train at 4.35pm, arriving at the station for about 5.05pm.
