Our House System is at the heart of the Manchester High community, fostering friendships and teamwork across year groups. Every student joins a House when they arrive, building a sense of belonging that lasts throughout their time here.

In the Preparatory School, pupils and staff are part of one of four Houses: Behrens, Gaskell, Roby or Darbishire. In the Senior School, our Houses honour inspirational figures: Rosa Parks, Malala Yousafzai, Mary Seacole and Ada Lovelace.

House points are awarded throughout the year for achievements in competitions, music, sporting competitions, creative projects, and academic work. Weekly totals are shared, adding to the friendly rivalry. At the end of the year, the scores are counted, and the winning House is awarded the House Cup by the Head Mistress in our end-of-year assembly – a celebration of teamwork, talent and determination.
