Manchester High School for Girls

A message from our Archivists

"To all who are graduating from University in 2020; we know that this has been a very difficult year for those of you finishing undergraduate and postgraduate courses.  It can’t have been the experience that you were expecting or that you deserve after all your hard work.

Here at MHSG we would still love to know how you have got on and to celebrate your success.

Some of you may already know that Mrs Roberts and Mrs Hobson are now back as the School Archivists. They remember you all so well and are very keen to mount an exhibition in Reception to celebrate your achievements and inspire the younger generation! Whether you have completed undergraduate or postgraduate degrees or other training, Mrs R and Mrs H would love to catch up with your news.

We know that graduation ceremonies have been put on hold for now, but we are still keen to mount our now traditional graduation news exhibition which is displayed on the big screen in Reception.

The staff are always thrilled to read your news and all the girls - including those in Prep - are riveted!

Would you be happy to send us an informal photo of yourself, accompanied by details of your A Level / IB subjects, university, degree subject and possibly future plans? Mrs Hobson and Mrs Roberts will then use the information to create slides for the exhibition and store the information in the School Archive.

The exhibition is constantly updated, so if you have a degree ceremony later, please send an additional photo in your gown and hood, perhaps with your proud family, and Mrs H and Mrs R will add it to the exhibition.

If you sent us a submission last year, but would like us to update your slides with your latest news, please let us know.

If your course is not yet complete, please get in touch whenever you are ready – this is an on-going project.  If you think that anyone might have missed out on this email, please urge them to contact Mrs H and Mrs R on the address below.

Thank you to those who have already sent a submission; it has been lovely to hear from you!

Please send your photos and details to "
