Insight into Fashion

Wednesday 18th September sees the first instalment of this academic year’s ‘Insight Into...’ series of careers talks. Students and their parents from years 9 through to 13 who have an interest in the Fashion Industry and would like to know more about this multi-million pound global industry are welcome to sign up for this fantastic opportunity.

Laura Bella-Tabernero, Class of 2015 alumna, will be returning to School to talk about her experience as a Central Saint Martins BA Fashion Design student. Laura will share the details of her internships in Antwerp and London, give an insight into her experience at Paris and London Fashion Week’s, and tell us how she came to create an outfit for renowned artist, Grayson Perry.

Zoe Souter, Marketing Manager at the Condé Nast College of Fashion & Design will also be joining us to share her expertise. After graduating with a degree in Art History from Cambridge University, Zoe’s first job was PA to iconic fashion photographer Norman Parkinson. She joined British Vogue for ten years as Fashion Bookings Editor producing fashion, beauty and celebrity cover shoots.

Our final speaker is Class of 2010 alumna, Fiona Hilton. Fiona studied for her BSc in Business at Kings College and Postgraduate Certificate in Fashion Buying and Merchandising at the London College of Fashion. Fiona is currently a Junior Buyer at House of Fraser and will share her experience of climbing the career ladder in the buying and merchandising functions of large high street retailers.

The talk is open to pupils in Years 9, 10, 11 and Sixth Form and their parents, as well as those students who are interested in attending from local schools and colleges.

We anticipate that this will be a very popular evening so seats must be reserved in advance.
