Manchester High School for Girls

On Tuesday 16th October, pupils and parents will be able to discover first-hand what it’s like to be a successful woman working in the field of architecture.

Do you have a keen eye for detail and design and an interest in your surroundings? Are you methodical in your approach to a task, with good skills in maths and IT? Then you could be suited to a career in architecture!

Yang Hu

Former Manchester High pupil Yang Hu, will appear as part of our 'Insight Into' careers series in the Zochonis Lecture Theatre from 6pm.

'Insight Into' careers talks will take place over the course of the year where we will draw on the experience of our alumnae and wider business community to give pupils the inside track on specific sectors.

Yang, from the MHSG Class of 2010, is currently an Architectural Assistant based in the Manchester office of the award-winning firm SimpsonHaugh. Alongside three of her colleagues, Jasmine, Eliana and Phillipa, Yang will talk to us about her journey from MHSG to her role today and about the incredible opportunities available to young women seeking a career in architecture.

The talk is open to all girls in Years 9 to 13 and takes place on Tuesday 16th October at 6pm in the Zochonis Lecture Theatre.

Parents are encouraged to attend, as are pupils and parents from local Schools and colleges.
