Our students consistently perform at an exceptional level in their A-level and GCSE examinations. MHSG is consistently one of the Sunday Times’ Top Five Independent Schools in the North West and was recognised as their Northwest Independent Secondary School of the Year 2019. Celebrating outstanding A-level success
Manchester High School for Girls is celebrating another year of fantastic A-level results, with our departing Senior Sixth students once again doing themselves – and the School – proud. Well over half of the grades achieved by our students were A* and A. In total, an impressive 86% of all grades were the prestigious “gold standard” A* to B.

Manchester High School for Girls’ pupils are celebrating another year of outstanding GCSE results. With an impressive average grade of 8 (A) and more than three quarters of all results awarded at grades 7 to 9 (A/A*), our students have once again achieved at the very highest level.
Yet again, this year, it is the range of subject success which is so good to see. With 100% of all grades in Music being 8/9 (A*), 93% of all grades being 8/9 in Physical Education and 92% being grade 9 in Graphics, our pupils continue to demonstrate their passion for the subject breadth. At the same time, with well over three quarters of all grades being the highest 7-9 (A/A*) in Maths and the Sciences, our pupils also demonstrate their STEM credentials.
Destinations 2025
Most students go on to study at highly selective higher education institutions, including top-ranked universities such as Oxford, Cambridge, Imperial, St Andrews, UCL, Manchester, Warwick and Durham. Others take up competitive degree apprenticeship placements, with the likes of Goldman Sachs.
