AN ACTIVE LIFE

There is a wide range of sporting choices including aerobics, water polo, basketball and self-defence classes, alongside a comprehensive selection of more traditional sports.  If your daughter wishes, she can take extra tennis lessons with a head coach from the Northern Lawn Tennis Club.  Many MHSG girls join a range of different teams which enjoy much competitive success, regionally and nationally; recent sports tours have included visits to Australia, Holland, Fiji and America.  Several of our students represent their sports at regional and national level and senior students can gain confidence and independence by training for the Sports Leader Awards in Year 10 and the Sixth Form.

Your daughter will also be able to take GCSE, AS and A Level PE.  She will be coached by a skilled and dynamic department of PE specialists, both during curricular and extra-curricular pursuits. 

Our purpose built sports complex, new in 2006, includes a multi-function sports hall, a dance studio and a fitness centre for personal training.  Our flood-lit, all-weather hockey pitch, tennis courts and netball courts and swimming pool all provide lots more  opportunities for your daughter to enjoy sporting activities.
