Warburton Double For Sarah

Talented violinist Sarah Lewis claimed the 2007 Warburton Cup prize for the second year in succession.

The competition recognises the best solo performance on the night and was founded in 1935 by Annie Warburton, MHSG’s Head of Music from 1926 to 1946.

Sarah’s dazzling performance won much praise from the competition adjudicator, Mr Andrew Dean, former Head of Music at Manchester Grammar School.

Mr Dean also complimented cellist, Clare Bernstein, for her runners-up performance. Both girls went on to perform at MHSG’s Speech Night at the Bridgewater Hall in October.
