Literary Quiz Quest

Literary knowledge was put to the test during a quiz that involved over 30 schools from across the North West.

Excitement grew as the MHSG team were placed second at the halfway point, but a tricky round on the subject of cartoon strips meant they finished in sixth, albeit just five points off a top three finish.

Nell Brown (8M, pictured far right) won a spot prize for impressively identifying the opening lines to Oliver Twist. The girls also got to meet author, Sherry Ashworth, who has written a series of novels for teenagers.
