From Russia With Love

Five days in the Russian city of St. Petersburg were enjoyed by our Sixth Form historians. A busy itinerary saw the party of 33 girls visit many sites of historical and cultural significance.

They included The Hermitage Museum and Winter Palace, The Siege of Leningrad War Memorial and The Yussopov Palace, where Rasputin met his demise.

Evening activities included a performance of Giselle at the St. Petersburg Conservatoire and an evening of traditional Cossack music and dancing. The group even found the time to tour a Russian secondary school.

Explained Basma Sayeed (J6): “This gave us a chance to see a different perspective of school life during the course of a trip that provided a fantastic experience and an enjoyable cultural perspective to learn

from.”
