Junior Sixth Residential

Our Junior Sixth Formers enjoyed a two day residential course at The University of Lancaster and Holmescales Activity Centre in Cumbria.

The annual event provides students and form tutors the chance to get to know one another whilst undertaking a series of challenges and team-building exercises.

The workshops at The University of Lancaster were designed to develop interpersonal skills and involved a motivational talk, culminating in students breaking blocks of wood with their bare hands. In the evening, the group enjoyed a meal and social events.

The next day involved a journey north to The Holmescales Activity Centre where the programme of events involved orienteering, problem-solving and archery. The most popular activity seemed to be one that involved a group of blindfolded girls relying on non-verbal instructions to negotiate an obstacle course.

Not even a few showers could dampen spirits before the party headed back to Manchester High, exhausted but happy with a superb start to Sixth Form life.
