| News Archive The spectacular scenery of The French Alps was enjoyed by over 30 MHSG students during a Geography Field Trip. Based in Chatel, close to the southern edge of Lake Geneva, the group studied the impact of tourism in the village community and enjoyed some spectacular views as a reward for a mountain hike.
Other highlights included a day in Chamonix, a visit to the Mer de Glace, one of Europe's largest glaciers, and a day in Switzerland at the Gruyère and Nestlé factories. Perhaps not surprisingly, more chocolate than cheese was eaten!
The party also visited the impressive Gorge Diablo where fascinating rock formations had been carved by the river. This was followed by the medieval town of Ivoire and a ferry ride on Lake Geneva to Evian. The coach journeys may have been long but demand for a 2008 trip is undiminished. |
