Where Are They Now?
Naomi Cowan (née Clayton) Class '95

After leaving MHSG, Naomi spent a year in Israel studying Jewish philosophy followed by a stint on a Kibbutz. She then made her way to London to study Jewish History & Hebrew at University College, London. After completing her studies, Naomi's career-break came in the unlikely form of a small start up business, The Happy Puzzle Company.

As the company's first Sales Director, Naomi set up the back office and call centre, spending her remaining time selling specialist puzzles for children with special needs. She also set up the company's promotional merchandise wing selling high volume items to companies such as Saab and the Royal Air Force.

Branching out to work at a larger organisation, Naomi moved to one of London's leading social care organisations ; Jewish Care. As Marketing Manager Naomi?s role was to improve the company's public profile and raise money through periodic direct mail campaigns. While at Jewish Care Naomi met and married David after a whirlwind romance and after two years, she left to have her son, Joshua.

On her return to work Naomi moved to a new job working part-time at a fledging charity raising money for a hospital in Israel - British Friends of Laniado Hospital. As Communications Manager, Naomi is responsible for the charity's marketing & communications strategy, direct marketing appeals, publications and website.

Sys Naomi, "the charity sector is definitely a great place to work.  You feel like you are really doing your bit, every single day."
