Class of 1998

After leaving Manchester High School for Girls in 1998, I studied English at Durham for four years, completing my initial degree and a Masters. I had always wanted to teach English, so I was not faced with the difficult decision of what to do next. During 2002-2003, I moved back home and trained in Manchester.

My first job was teaching at Altrincham Grammar School for Girls. Four years later, I applied for the Head of English position at MHSG. I was filled with both delight and fear when they offered me the job. The high expectations and enthusiasm of both pupils and staff make it a dynamic and intense place to work – and I thrive on that!
