We exist to generate support for the continuing development of Manchester High School for Girls and our work includes fund-raising and maintaining our database of Old Girls.

We aim to raise funds for both capital projects and bursaries, which cannot be financed by any other means. Currently our sole focus is to raise money on behalf of the MHSG General Charitable Trust (charity number: 506823) which exists to provide financial assistance to girls who could not otherwise attend Manchester High School for Girls.

The team consists of Suzie Thompson, Development Director. She was a pupil at MHSG from 1987 to 1994. Beverley Rubin, Development Manager and Sally Williams, Development Secretary.

The team can be contacted via the following email addresses:

Supporting MHSG

From the time of is foundation in 1874, Manchester High School for Girls has been fortunate in the number of benefactors who have shared our vision of providing the very best education for girls of ability.

To continue to do this and ensure that Manchester High School for Girls remains one of the country's leading schools, the generosity of donors is needed more than ever. Assisted places no longer exist and we must now rely on our own resources to fund much deserved bursaries. As we move further into the 21st century, we must also ensure that MHSG continues to provide a centre of excellence for all.

Like many girls' schools, we do not possess a large endowment fund and, although we are regarded as one of the best value schools in the country, we do not wish to place the entire burden of extra costs onto school fees. Please take the time to read through these pages and consider how you can follow in the footsteps of our founders and ensure our future progress. The Development Office is eager to hear from anyone considering supporting MHSG and is open to discuss all opportunities.
