From the beginning, the Founders of Manchester High School for Girls embarked on a quest for endowments for scholarships to enable girls from low income families to benefit from an academic education. The first two scholarships date from the first years of the School.
Since the withdrawal of the Assisted Place Scheme (APS) in 1997 the School has undertaken a vigorous fundraising campaign to maintain and extend the financial support it is able to offer students who might otherwise be deterred by fees.
