The Warburton Cup 2008 saw a record number of Sixth Form students perform, which is a reflection of the exceptionally strong musical talents of the two year groups.
The girls are all wonderfully supportive of each other and embrace the sense of occasion, proving that it’s not just about winning.
On the evening, young musicians performed a 10-minute recital for external adjudicator, Mr John Powell (pictured), a distinguished singer and choral trainer who also conducts many of the prestigious choirs in the North West.
The winner and runner-up were announced as saxophonist, Anjali Vyas-Brannick (pictured left) and violinist, Danielle Hobday (pictured right). Both girls won the chance to perform at Speech Night and Anjali also received the Warburton Cup.
