Budding linguists enjoyed a commemorative trip to Mannheim to mark the 20th anniversary of the German exchange scheme.
The main aim of the trip was to help students improve their language skills. This was supported tremendously by the great choice of host families where relationships have been cemented over the past two decades.
It was a thoroughly enjoyable experience for students and members of the Modern Languages staff: Mrs Hobson, Mrs Roberts and Miss King, who had been to Mannheim as an exchange student herself.
Girls sampled the culture and lifestyle of Mannheim as well as gaining an insight into everyday school life. A particular highlight for students involved a trip to see the local hockey team, the ‘Mannheim Adlers (Eagles)’, in action! |
