Business Boom

Entrepreneurial pupils became shop owners for the day under the guidance of experienced individuals from the world of business.

Groups conjured up their winning business ideas with the ultimate start-up proposition. The girls were given a scenario that involved running a retail business within a new shopping complex located close to a supermarket.  They divided into three functional units covering design, marketing and business planning.

Students reconvened in the afternoon as each group provided a marketing presentation, complete with MHSG’s Dragon’s Den-style judging panel.

A mouth-watering bakery shop was crowned champion with the aptly named ‘Bake-alicious’ enterprise. The team are pictured here with their business adviser, Mrs Walshe, a financial director.
