GUIDANCE FOR THE FUTURE
Our Careers Department will provide your daughter with the guidance, information and support which she needs to make the right decisions about her future. Careers staff operate from a suite of rooms containing extensive and varied resources.
Advice will be available to help your daughter select her university and course in an informed way. Our Careers and Higher Education library has a comprehensive range of university guides and computer facilities for on-line research.
We work closely with Connexions, the national careers service and Cambridge Occupational Analysts. Your daughter will also benefit from our close liaison with universities and a range of local companies and organisations. Specific careers advice is given by our Careers Staff who organise a series of interviews and talks throughout the school year. In Year 9, your daughter will focus on the skills necessary for the future development of a career and upon the application of these skills in a working environment.
In Year 10, Careers Advice becomes a formal part of students' education and each girl will have a personal interview with a member of the Careers Team. After their GCSE examinations pupils take on a period of work experience which they may organise themselves or choose from the wide variety of organisations with whom the School has links.
