A Piece of Cake
[printer-friendly page] [printer-friendly page]

WATCH out Jamie Oliver because our Year 2 girls are ready to rival your culinary skills.

Working in groups of six, the girls spent a morning making miniature sponge cakes, taking it in turns to weigh their ingredients, which meant drawing upon their Mathematics skills.

Then it was time to spoon the mixture into cake cases before the baking trays were taken to the oven.

The session was part of a Science unit on changing materials.
