Rhyme Time

IMAGINATION was the name of the game when poet David Horner visited the Prep to pass on his expertise.

David ran a series of workshops over two days for girls of all ages.

They were preceded by readings from his latest collection, The A to Z of Dinosaur Rhymes. David proved to be a huge hit as he encouraged the girls to play with word forms and rhymes. There was much mirth along the way as the girls responded with some highly inventive pieces.

David said: “In the workshops, I like to take the girls on a journey and to challenge them to use their imagination. There is some wonderful talent at Manchester High.”

The poet has created a dinosaurus featuring 26 of the prehistoric creatures; one for each letter of the alphabet. Each creature has its own rhyme.
