BUDDING bookworms are devouring a selection of novels delivered to Manchester High as part of a Government initiative.
Each Year 7 girl has chosen her own book to keep from a selection of 12 as part of a nationwide scheme to promote reading for pleasure. The initiative has proven so popular that a swap box is now in situ in The Harrison Library.
MHSG’s Librarian, Miss Zoe Hawker, explained: “Along with a book everyone got a sticker, bookmark and bag to carry their selection home in. The girls arrived by form to collect their bags and were delighted with the contents.” |
