Reading In Character
[printer-friendly page] [printer-friendly page]

YEAR Six pupils demonstrated their love of literature by collectively reading over 1,000 pages from their favourite books in just a fortnight.

Their efforts were part of a nationwide Readathon challenge in aid of two children’s charities, The Roald Dahl Foundation and the CLIC Sargent Fund.

It is the third year that the Preparatory Department has participated in the event with each girl sponsored to read a set number of pages within the time limit. Last year's Year Six raised over £700.

The girls also enjoy an opportunity to come to school dressed as a character from their favourite book, which provides other classes with a fun challenge to guess who they are.
