A Celebrity Kitty Who Is Sitting Pretty

HE is every inch the picture purrfect celebrity and our pupils certainly think he is the cat’s whiskers. Now Samson the cat has proven he is no shabby tabby by being immortalised in the second of a series of  children’s books.

The famous feline is the star of ‘Sailor Sam and the Two Sicknesses,’ the latest book to be written and illustrated by author and owner, Angela Cater. The book has already won glowing reviews, with Giovanna Lagana of Wyoming-based Whiskey Creek Press stating:

“Angela Cater has weaved a delightful tale that will entertain both kids and adults alike. It takes us on a unique journey that has you laughing at the end.”

Angela, a secretary at Manchester High School for Girls, said it was Samson’s charm that inspired her to make him the star of her books.

“He is every bit the celebrity, has lived with me for the last 12 years and totally rules the roost at home, so when I decided to write a children’s book he was always going to be the focus,” said Angela.

Angela, who is donating all profits from her book to the Riverhaven Elderly Cat Welfare Shelter, marked its launch by performing a book-reading to our Year 1 class, all of whom took delight in learning more about the adventures of their very own Top Cat.
