Mini Bridge Is A Hit

BRIGHT young minds at Manchester High School for Girls are again proving to be at the head of the pack by mastering the intricacies of Bridge.

A simplified version of the game, Mini Bridge, has been redeveloped by Mr David Adelman, who is a member of the Manchester Bridge Club and a professional member of EBUTA, the official teaching body of the English Bridge Union.

It is a partnership game for four players in which the entire pack of 52 cards is used. The game is fun, tests arithmetic skills and the ability to think strategically and to co-operate with a partner.

Needless to say, David’s lessons have proven hugely popular with our Year 4 girls, many of whom are starting to excel at the game.

MHSG Old Girl Jennifer Marvin is currently a member of the England Under 25 Women’s Bridge Team and two Year 11 students, Laura Bonney and Ruth Franklin, represent Manchester in the Inter County Northern Bridge League.
