SIXTH Form students Cecily Fan, Amnah Ahmed and Tara Wood were honoured at a prestigious ceremony to celebrate their runners-up award in the 2007 Royal Society of Chemistry National Schools’ Analyst competition.

The trio received The Gerry Davison Award from Sir Alan Cockroft, former President of the Institution of Civil Engineers, whose work proved integral to the regeneration of Manchester and the building of the Millennium Dome.

The girls also received their £500 prize, to be split between themselves and MHSG’s Chemistry Department.
